Named after the Tatacoa Desert, this coffee embodies the spirit of resilience and vibrancy that defines this land. In the heart of Huila, the coffees that are part of this wonderful regional blend are blessed by the fertile soils of the region and the equatorial sun. This region is not only known for its exceptional coffee but also for its culture and passion.
The name ‘Tatacoa’ refers to the rattlesnakes that once lived in the region, and the area is sometimes known as the rather more poetic “Valley of Sadnesses”. It is the second largest desert in Colombia, and a land of mystery and astonishing silence. Scientists estimate that during the Tertiary Period around 60 million years ago, the desert was a beautiful garden, full of tropical flowers and trees.
